Book driving lessons with a licensed, checked instructor in the Telride app. See their car, their experience and how far away they are, pick a time that suits you, and start your lesson from your own front door.
Your lessons
Every instructor publishes the times they teach. The app shows only the slots that are actually free, up to two months ahead, so there's no phoning around and no waiting for a call back.
Each instructor sets their own rate, and the price of the lesson is shown before you book.
How it works
Compare the instructors who teach near you: their car, how long they've been teaching, the languages they speak and how far away they are.
Choose a 1, 1.5 or 2-hour lesson and a free slot in their calendar. Pay by card in the app and the time is yours.
Your instructor meets you at the address you choose. Leave a note when you book, such as "nervous on roundabouts", so the lesson starts where you need it to.
After each lesson your instructor writes up notes on what you did well and what to practise next. You'll find them in the app.
Your instructor
Instructors apply through the Telride driver app and send us their paperwork. Our team reviews every document, and only then does their profile go live for learners to book.
A current Transport for NSW driving instructor licence, on top of their own full driver licence and proof of identity.
Learners can be 16, so every instructor holds a current Working With Children Check.
The instructor's car is registered and insured for driving instruction, with a second brake on their side.
Plans change. Cancel in the app at least 24 hours before your lesson and you're refunded in full.
Teach with Telride in your own dual-control electric car. Set your own hours, area and rate, and let learners book straight into your calendar. Apply in the Telride driver app.
Good to know
Yes. You'll need a current learner licence to drive, and we ask for your licence number when you book so your instructor knows who they're meeting.
If you're under 25 and learning in NSW, each hour with a licensed driving instructor counts as three hours in your learner logbook, for up to 10 hours of lessons. Ask your instructor to sign your logbook at the end of each lesson.
No. Every Telride lesson is in an electric car, and electric cars are automatic. Keep in mind that in NSW, passing your driving test in an automatic means you can only drive automatics while you're on your P1 licence.
At the address you give when you book: home, school, work or anywhere else. The app shows you the instructors who teach near that address.
Yes. Book from your own Telride account and enter the learner's name and licence number. The booking and your instructor's notes stay on your account.
Cancel in the app at least 24 hours before the lesson starts and you're refunded in full. To change the time, cancel and book a new slot. Inside 24 hours, a lesson can't be cancelled.
By card in the Telride app when you book. The price is set by your instructor and shown before you pay, and the lesson appears in My lessons straight away.
